INTRODUCTION:

Long Beach continues to be a city that celebrates all people with the goal of ensuring everyone knows they are appreciated and celebrated. On October 2, 2022 at Recreation Park from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Long Beach Trans Pride will celebrate its second annual parade to highlight, empower, inspire and normalize the vibrant Trans and Nonbinary community, and to show strength in unity with Trans people.

Therefore, it is appropriate for the City of Long Beach to support this event that brings positivity, acceptance, and a sense of community to our City.

This item was reviewed by Budget Manager Grace H. Yoon on September 29, 2022.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide a donation to California Families in Focus for their Annual Trans Parade. The requested action is NB-49
anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities STATEMENT OF URGENCY:
