Dave Shukla [email protected] Interesting.
Incorporating the... "Equity Toolkit and strategies outlined in the Everyone Home Long Beach plan..." how hard would it be to develop an app to notify "community advocates, nonprofits, City and County of Los Angeles, State of California, other foundations, and the private sector..." of how many open beds there are, in real- time, in Long Beach that could be used to house the homeless? What levels of occupancy, or lack thereof, in Hilton properties located in Long Beach count as chronically unoccupied?
Persistently under-utilized? What about for all large hotels in the downtown Long Beach?
For CM's chiefs of staff and legislative aides:
Can any of you quantify the ratio of empty new units to the number of new homeless folks in Long Beach since 2014?
That is, can you quantify how many people were displaced by (some of) your CM's policies, and which resultant new
construction has units still empty, and properly divide out the difference?
Hint: the ratio is not 1:1

15. (22-1191) Recommendation to find that all
requirements of the final subdivision map for
consolidation of five existing parcels into a single
48,003-square-foot parcel and the subdivision of
airspace for 18 three-story townhome units for
residential and commercial purposes located at 4800
Long Beach Boulevard have been met; approve the
final map for Tract No. 77097; and, authorize City
Manager, or designee, to execute subdivision
agreements; and
Determine that the project is within the scope of the
project previously analyzed as part of Mitigated
Negative Declaration IS/MND-04-20 (State
Clearinghouse No. 2020050229) and no further
environmental review is required. (District 8)
Dave Shukla [email protected] If the project does not include battery storage and a microgrid for the entire project, built at cost by the developer, this is a real missed opportunity.
The sort of missed opportunity that is glaringly obvious to those familiar with what other Cities and counties are doing with their own CCAs (community choice aggregations for electricity utilities), but likely victim to the myopia of a town, and city council for which, seems completely beholden the the for-profit utility that has spent more than this project's cost trying to keep Southern Californians from making their own energy decisions.
As an individual, isolated case, it's easy to rationalize... ...but as a concerted pattern of deprivation...
...how long do you reckon you have to keep making such
mistakes?

Kate Sachnoff [email protected] I appreciate the Council's support of women's bodily autonomy.
Please approve this item for the Federal Legislative Committee to act upon.

Melissa Banda [email protected] SisterSong defines Reproductive Justice as the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent the children we have in safe and sustainable communities.Long Beach is a great city that should strive to support this goal. S.4840 and HR 1080 does not support the people of Long Beach and in fact such legislation would move us in a dangerous direction. We have to decide as a city do we trust woman and potentially pregnant people or do we support the clearly racist and unethical legislation that is S4040 and HR1080. 10/5/2022
