Subject: Marijuana Dispensary in my neighborhood public comment

-EXTERNAL-

My neighbors and I who live in the 5th District have a very big concern about a marijuana dispensary going in at 5440 Del Amp Blvd. Long Beach.

We realize the dispensaries original location was on Bellflower blvd. just south of Del Amo at the old Milk barn location and it was licensed. From what I remember is this location never really opened, or if it did it was for a very short time.

Some our concerns range from people smoking marijuana in public or in their cars in the neighborhood, Housing prices dropping, Parking in the neighborhood and safety of the children who ride bikes and walk through the area after school.

This location is within walking distance to Lakewood High School, Bancroft Middle school and Mark Twain Elementary school.

We are wondering how this could have been approved without notification to the neighbors in the immediate vicinity. I have concerns about not enough Police patrols in the area.

With the police department so under staffed, I rarely see police patrol this area on a routine basis. I have lived in my home in this area for 38 years.

I am NOT the only concerned resident. I know another resident has reached out the council persons office voicing their concerns. They are making it sound like nobody cares.

Please let me know how we can prevent this business from moving into our neighborhood.
