Good morning,
Please put the below article and my comments in the public record... Please note when I posted this article on the Mayor's FB page, several fake profiles threatened me with violence...that is not acceptable.
We are very concerned about the lack of accountability of funds for homeless services, including the motels and now the winter shelter...How could the city open a winter shelter (late) and not provide showers, fresh water & toilets to the residents? You spent thousands of dollars a day and who is monitoring it? I seriously question if the Long Beach HealthDept can oversee this... Why is the MSC not open 40 hours a week? Where have the millions gone? It is unacceptable that the unhoused are treated this way by city officials... When I question it, I get harassed by fake profiles...,not acceptable.
You all have a duty to make sure the money given to the city is being correctly used with accountability. I will be filing a complaint with the LA County Health Dept as well.
