Funds Transfer Request to Khmer Parent Association's for the 8th Annual Mother and Daughter Conference
RECOMMENDATION:
y
Increase appropriations in the General Fund Group in the City Manager Department by $500, offset by the Sixth Council District One-time District Priority Funds transferred from the Citywide Activities Department to provide a contribution to the Khmer Parent Association to support their 8th Annual Mother and Daughters Conference, and;
Decrease appropriations in the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department by $500 to offset a transfer to the City Manager Department.

Discussion
Founded by Chan Hopson, Khmer Parent Association is a community-based organization whose mission is to produce tomorrow's leaders of today's Khmer youth through higher education by providing tutoring, leadership development, scholarships, and health education to youth, women, and families.

Since its inception in 2016, Khmer Parent Association's Mother and Daughters Conference provides a great opportunity for families to build, develop, and strengthen relationships across cultures, as well as creating friendly dialogue and sharing experiences as one community. This year's conference will take place on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at McBride Park - Social Hall.

This matter has been reviewed by Budget Analyst Joe R. Guerrero on February 6, 2023.

FISCAL IMPACT
This recommendation requests the City Manager to provide funds to support the Khmer Parent Association's 8th Annual Mother and Daughters Conference. The total appropriation increase of $500 in the City Manager Department will be offset by Sixth Council District One-time District Priority Funds from the General Fund Group in the Citywide Activities Department. The requested action is anticipated to require a minimal level of staff hours beyond the budgeted scope of duties and is expected to have minimal impact on existing City Council priorities.

SUGGESTED ACTION
Approve Recommendation.
