RE: Support of Green Trucking Facility and Container Storage Project Deny the Appeal by the Westside Business Association of Long Beach (WBALB) Honorable Mayor and City Councilmembers:
I SUPPORT the Cargomatic Green Trucking Facility and Container Storage Project and hope that you deny the appeal by the WBALB. I enjoy working for Atlas Marine (subsidiary of Cargomatic) and Roberto Uranga is my Councilmember (7'h District). I love Long Beach and am excited to see that Cargomatic is investing in the new facility, which is located at 1711 Harbor Avenue.
My family and I hope that Councilmember Roberto Uranga and all the Councilmembers vote to deny the appeal by the WBALB.
The new facility will help relieve supply chain congestion, reduce emissions, and beautify the area. This is a great project for Long Beach, and the green trucking facility will allow Cargomatic to maximize asset utilization and move more cargo with fewer trucks, providing relief to local port congestion while helping to clean the air. I live in West Long Beach and this project will make our community better!
Cargomatic is committed to being a good neighbor and the new facility will include zero- emission charging stations, drought-resistant landscape buffers, fencing and on-site parking for company employees and visitors.
I urge you to deny the appeal from the WBALB so Cargomatic can build the new green trucking facility and container storage facility. This will be good for the community by beautifying the by providing new employment opportunities, and by reducing emissions.
Sincerely,
Martin Tijerina
