DISCUSSION:

Councilwoman Megan Kerr would like to support the mission of the St. Mary Medical Center Foundation by providing a contribution for the 26th Annual Easter Walk fund raiser for their "CARE Center''. The CARE Center supports and provides comprehensive care for those in our community living with HIV. This contribution will support the CARE Center, which provides HIV Treatment to people living with HIV and others directly impacted by the virus. The CARE Center also provides medical care, behavioral health services, food and nutrition, supportive services, oral healthcare, and prevention education to reduce the impact of HIV within Long Beach and beyond. CARE's model of comprehensive services was -one of the first of its kind and serves over 2,000 people every year - regardless of their ability to pay. For more than 30 years, the CARE Center has touched countless lives.

This matter has been reviewed by Recovery Budget Officer Dee Okam on April 5, 2023.
