On April 13, 2023, Congressman Robert Garcia announced his submission of Community Project Funding requests to the House Committee on Appropriations for funding consideration in the fiscal year 2024 cycle2. In preparation for fiscal year budget negotiations and as new Council representation is now in two of the three Council District where this 5.7-mile project is located, a comprehensive update on the status of the project is requested. Any cost, schedule, or quality deviation from the December 2022 staff report should be included in the update.

FISCAL IMPACT:

This recommendation requests the City Manager direct Public Works to provide a comprehensive update on the status of the Studebaker Road major corridor improvements project at the June 6, 2023, Council meeting. Since this is an ongoing project, information should be readily available to prepare the update.
