RESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LONG BEACH APPROVING CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO ACCEPT A
GRANT FROM THE CALIFORNIA NATURAL RESOURCES
AGENCY IN THE AMOUNT OF $5,200,000 FOR CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS AT WRIGLEY GREENBELT AND MULTI -
SERVICE CENTER
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted AB179, the State of California Budget Act of 2022, and amended the bill to support state government for 2022-2023 fiscal year that included the appropriation of funds by the California Natural Resources Agency (“CNRA”) to fund the City of Long Beach’s Wrigley Greenbelt Restoration Project and the Multi-Service Center Expansion and Improvements Project; and
WHEREAS, the CNRA has been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the grant program in its jurisdiction, setting up necessary procedures; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the CNRA require the Applicant’s Governing Body to certify by resolution the approval of the Application before submission of said Application to the State; and
WHEREAS, City of Long Beach (“Applicant”) desires to accept grant funds from the California Natural Resources Agency for capital improvements at Wrigley Greenbelt and Multi- Service Center (“Project”); and
WHEREAS, if awarded, Applicant intends to accept an amount up to Five Million Two Hundred Thousand Dollars ($5,200,000) for completion of the Project and authorize the City Manager, or designee, to execute all documents necessary to accept RES-23-0088

2 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Long Beach resolves as 3 follows:
4 Section 1. The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated 5 herein by this reference.

28 Section 2. The City Council of the City of Long Beach does hereby authorize the City Manager to accept and expend funding for the Wrigley Greenbelt Restoration Project and Multi-Service Center Expansion and Improvement Project from the California Natural Resources Agency Grant Agreement No. GF2235-0.
Section 3. A certified copy of this Resolution shall be transmitted to the County.
Section 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the City Clerk shall certify the vote adopting this resolution.
