RECOMMEND ATION:
Recommendation t o authorize the City Attorney to submit two Stipulations w ith Request for Award for approval by t he Workers' Compensation Appea ls Board, and if so approved , author ity to pay 1) $56,260 .00 and also 2) separate authority to pay $5,596.25 in compliance with the Appeals Board Order for T heodore Covey .
DISCUSSION:
Theodore Covey has made a claim for injuries allegedly s ustained in the course of h is employment w ith the City o f L ong Beach. The Government O perations and Efficie ncy Committee on June 20, 2023, approved the s ubmission to the Worke rs' Compensation Appeals Board of t wo Stipulations w ith R equest for Award by the C ity a nd Theodore Covey, based upon 1) a 39 percent disability rating, with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary, and 2) a 10 percent disability rating, with provision for lifetime medical care as may be necessary .
SUGGESTION ACTION:
Approve recomme ndation.
