As a newly moved-in resident (of 3 months) living
behind this current establishment, I would not feel
comfortable with this permit being approved. I have
heard from my fellow neighbor that this bar has been an issue of concern since established, and as I've come to see it, I have to agree. None of the guidelines listed in this permit have been followed as of late, which leads
me to believe this bar can not follow the guidelines of this permit in the future. To add to this, it is not a
comfortable or ideal combo to permit amplified music
near a residential neighborhood with children, young
adults, and the elderly who would be affected by the
loud and unruly noises. I would greatly reconsider
approving this permit, because of the inconsiderate
actions towards this establishment's surrounding
environment.

Dave Shukla [email protected] Support.
Hopefully with this intergovernmental MOU there can be
a quicker response to problems in the Dominguez
Channel than over the past couple of years.

38. (23-0871) Recommendation to declare ordinance amending the Long Beach Municipal Code by amending the title of Chapter
2.38 and Section 2.38.010, all relating to the Climate Resilient and Sustainable City Commission, read and adopted as read. (Citywide)
Pete Marsh [email protected] Good afternoon! I'm writing to express
STRONG SUPPORT
for item 23-0871, renaming the *Climate Resilient and*
Sustainable City Commission.
This seemingly minor step does indeed better align with the commission's mission and the CAP.
Thank you for all you do.

Dave Shukla [email protected] Hello. The changes here are, as the kids say, "pretty mid".
It is a good thing that the City has established an Office of Climate Action. Greater consistency of purpose
would be achieved if this, ahem, advisory board was
similarly so named. After all, what meaning does
"climate resiliency" have in a City context where two
towns, Long Beach and the Signal Hill enclosed therein, are responsible not only for a significant portion of
California's historical emissions of ghg's (greenhouse
gases) over the past 120 years, but also a significant
part of the institutional and political resistance to
mitigating those emissions over the past 30 years?
Moreover, per section 2.38.030 of the proposed
ordinance, this non-Charter Commission has no real
authority.
Mayor Richardson and Council Members, that lack of
authority matters in a context where your own City Staff, across various departments, remain resistant to
meeting CA statutory goals on mitigation and reducing
emissions.
Just saying...
