Dear Council Members,
We urge you to consider expanding pickleball courts at Marina Vista Park for the following benefits:
1. **Health:** Pickleball offers full-body exercise, improving cardiovascular health and muscle strength. (I’ve never felt healthier in my 64 years)!
2. **Social:** It fosters community and friendships, benefiting mental well-being. (We have made so many great new friendships it’s unbelievable)!
3. **Inclusivity:** The sport is accessible to people of all ages and skill levels. (That’s a fact and so fun)!
4. **Economic:** New courts can boost local business traffic. (I don’t want more traffic but I know it helps the local business owners, so that’s good).
5. **Low-Cost:** Courts are affordable to build and maintain. (Less money and tons more fun and involvement than tennis courts or basketball courts)!!
6. **Eco-Friendly:** Requires less land and resources compared to other sports facilities.
We request the Council to:
- Assess Marina Vista Park for court suitability.
- Allocate necessary funds.
- Promote the sport in community events.
-Please continue to make Long Beach desirable and more pickleball courts will help.
