Dear City Clerk’s Office,
I would like to make a comment to the City Council regarding the upcoming city budget. I feel strongly that more must be allocated to the pet shelter. They are understaffed and there are more strays and abandoned animals than ever. We in East Long Beach are grateful for the shelter and believe it should be provided enough support to operate in a professional and caring manner. Either we are humane or we are not, and if the amount allocated to animal services remains as proposed, I’ll know the city council is the latter.
