Subject: Altar Brands entertainment permit healing Sept 12 2023: my comments -EXTERNAL-

Yet another club wants to open on Pine Avenue. More noise, more drunk patrons yelling at 1:30 a.m. on the Promenade.

I want the downtown to be a vibrant, active downtown with nice restaurants and interesting bars as much as the next person. But those of us who live within a block of Pine Street have to put up with the area resembling Spring Break on Miami Beach every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night.

The city withdrew the permit for JP23, but is this establishment at 230 Pine more of the same thing? We already have to sleep with earplugs three nights a week, put up with construction that's gone on for over 2 years, from 7am to about 4pm. Homeless people shouting at the top of their lungs at 3 a.m.

Motorcycles and muscle cars roaring around downtown at all hours of the night without any enforcement of noise ordinances.

I get tired of the city allowing more and more loud bars to open in the area, moving to the east with the Ordinaire on certain nights until midnight, and now the Edison Theater having dance party events from time to time.

Why not do something for the people who pay high rents and want to live in a liveable downtown- - and not make the downtown a beacon for suburbanites who want to come downtown and let loose without any concern for the people who LIVE here?
