A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF LONG BEACH AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT WITH BEAM
GLOBAL OF SAN DIEGO , CA, FOR THE PURCHASE OF
TWO PORTABLE BEAM SOLAR -POWERED ELECTRIC
VEHICLE AUTONOMOUS RENEWAL CHARGERS, ON THE
SAME TERMS AND CONDITIONS THROUGH THE STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT OF GENERAL SERVICES
CONTRACT WITH BEAM GLOBAL, OF S AN DIEGO, IN A
TOTAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $ 188,738, INCLUSIVE
OF TAXES AND FEES
WHEREAS, the Charter of the City of Long Beach (the “City”), Section 1802, permits the City to purchase services, supplies, materials, equipment and labor with other government agencies by purchasing under their contracts on a voluntary and selective basis when authorized by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to purchase two (2) Portable Beam Solar - Powered Electric Vehicle Autonomous Renewal Chargers, for use by various departments for Fleet vehicle charging of all-electric or plug-in hybrid electric City vehicles; and WHEREAS, DGS has a Contract for the purchase of the two portable Beam solar-powered elective vehicle Autonomous Renewal Chargers , Contract No. 1-22-61-16 (“DGS Contract”); and
WHEREAS, the City’s participation in the DGS Contract will facilitate the City’s ability to purchase as well as provide considerable cost benefits to the City; and WHEREAS, if the City had to utilize a formal bid process rather than participate in the DGS Contract, considerably more funds would be required; RES-23-0145

NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Long Beach resolves as follows:
Section 1. The above recitals are true and correct and are incorporated herein by this reference.
Section 2. The City Manager or designee is hereby authorized to enter an agreement with Beam Global to purchase two (2) portable Beam solar -powered electric vehicles Autonomous Renewal Chargers, of the same type and kind identified in the DGS Contract except as modified by mutual agre ement of the City and Beam Global, and the purchase by the City shall be on the same terms and conditions afforded to DGS in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Eighty Eight Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty Eight Dollars ($188,738) including taxes and fees.

28 Section 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the City Council, and the City Clerk shall certify the vote adopting this resolution.
