RECOMMENDATION:
Recommendation to receive and file a presentation on the Long Beach City Charter.
DISCUSSION

y 2, 2023, the City Council requested the City Manager, City Attorney and City Clerk provide a presentation on the history of the Long Beach City Charter, including substantial amendments, overview of the process required to amend the City Charter, the role of the Mayor, City Council, City Manager, and a summary of the City Manager form of government.
TIMING CONSIDERATIONS
City Coun
cil requested a presentation on the provisions of the Long Beach City Charter within 90 days of the May 2, 2023 City Council meeting.
FISCAL IMPACT
There
is no fiscal or local job impact associated with this recommendation. This recommendation has no staffing impact beyond the normal budgeted scope of duties and is consistent with City Council priorities.
