Providing Public Comment: To ensure everyone has time to speak, this session operates as a listening period for the City Council, and any specific questions will be noted by staff for later follow- up.
In Person
Fill out a speaker card and submit it to City Clerk staff before the item is read. Your name will be called when it is your turn to approach the podium during the item’s public comment period.
Time limits:
o Fewer than 10 speakers – 3 minutes each.
o More than 10 speakers – 90 seconds each.
Remote Public Comment (Zoom)
Members of the public wishing to provide public comment remotely will first be connected with City Clerk staff to provide their name (or alternate identifier) and the agenda item(s) they wish to address before joining the meeting. Requests to speak must be made before the agenda item is read.
First General (Non-Agenda) Public Comment
Beginning 15 minutes prior to the start of the meeting, select Raise Hand in Zoom to request to speak.
Participants joining by telephone should press *9 to raise their hand. City Clerk staff will assist you with registering to speak for the General Public Comment period.

To help ensure your Public Comments are received by Councilmembers in time for their weekly meeting, the City Clerk’s Office follows the distribution timelines below. The City Council Agenda is posted on Monday evening, one week before the meeting. Email and online comments submitted after deadlines are still distributed to Council and added to the Minutes. Public Comments submitted by Friday at 3:00 PM are compiled and sent to City Council Offices and included in the Friday Supplemental Agenda.
On Tuesday, the day of the meeting, Public Comments received by 12:00 PM are compiled, made available to the public, and sent to City Council Offices by 1:00 PM.
