I am respectfully requesting a temporary stay of the proposed tree removal in response to the notice (attached) posted on September 29, 2026, at 152 Park Avenue. This appeal is being submitted on 10/06/2026, within the applicable appeal period of 10 working days stated in the notice.
While I understand the notice indicates that the tree is proposed for removal because it is "diseased, dying or dead, or must be removed to repair damaged infrastructure," I respectfully request that the City evaluate alternatives to complete removal, including but not limited to structural crown reduction, pruning, or other preservation measures that may allow the tree to remain.
If, after further evaluation, the tree is determined to be unsalvageable and removal is necessary, I respectfully request a written commitment to an expedited one-for-one replacement with a native tree species so that the loss of canopy and associated environmental benefits and beauty can be promptly mitigated.
Thank you for your consideration of this appeal. I respectfully request written confirmation that this appeal has been received and that tree removal activities will be stayed pending review of this request.
