My name is Bridgette Cude. I live outside Long Beach, but I care about this program, and I ride BikeShare. I am writing about Agenda Item 20 at the October 6 City Council meeting: please keep Long Beach BikeShare local.
Pedal Movement has run BikeShare in Long Beach since 2017. That is 19 full-time jobs, and 17 of its employees live in the city. They are part of this community.
Handing the program to an out-of-town company would cost those jobs and push out a local business this community built. Please urge the Council to vote no on Item 20 and keep Pedal Movement running BikeShare in Long Beach.
