As you consider the Belmont Pool Project, I encourage you to review these photos showing today’s sealevel rise along this portion of the Long Beach coastal harbor.
This occurred on an ordinary weekday, without rain or storm conditions. Today’s elevated water levels came before any waves began crashing over the breakwater—something that occurred only a few weeks ago.
Please take this current, on-the-ground information into account as you evaluate the project. These photos offer an important reminder of the coastal conditions our community is already experiencing and the need to re-plan thoughtfully for a resilient public Pool.
Thank you,놲놳
