RE: Canvass of 2024 Primary Election results
RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that the Town Council of the Town of Loomis approves Resolution 24 -XX accepting the Canvass of Election returns of the March 5, 2024 Primary Election and declaring the Results of the Election.
ISSUE STATEMENT
On November 14, 2023 the Town Council of the Town of Loomis approved Resolution # 23-37 calling a Municipal election be held on March 5, 2024, for the purposes of calling for the submission to the voters a question relating to the office of Town Clerk; requesting that the Placer County Board of Supervisors consolidate the election with the statewide election; authorizing the Mayor to prepare a written argument in support of the measure; and directing the Town Attorney to prepare an impartial analysis of the measure
On Tuesday, March 5, 2024, the Primary Election was conducted by the Placer County Registrar of Voters. The County Clerk's official canvass of the Election has been completed.
For Measure A, asking if The Office of Town Clerk be Appointive has passed by 50.15% of the voters.

A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF LOOMIS ACCEPTING THE CANVASS OF ELECTION RETURNS OF MARCH 5, 2024, PRIMARY ELECTION AND
DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE ELECTION
BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Loomis that at the General Election held on March 5, 2024, as set forth on the attached Certificate of Canvass of Vote, that Measure A calling for the office of Town Clerk to be Appointed has passed by a majority of the voters.
