SPECIAL MEETING
Thursday, December 12, 2024
1. CALL TO ORDER
The City Council met in Special Session at 5:30 p.m., Thursday, December 12, 2024, in the Council Chamber located at 3191 Katella Ave., Los Alamitos, CA 90720, Mayor Nefulda presiding.
2. ROLL CALL
Present: Council Members: Doby, Mayor Pro Tem Hasselbrink, Mayor Nefulda
Absent: Council Members: Hibard, Murphy
Present: Staff: Chet Simmons, City Manager
Michael Claborn, Chief of Police
Windmera Quintanar, MMC, City Clerk/Dir. of Communications
3. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS
At this time, any individual in the audience may come forward to speak on any item listed on the Agenda. Remarks are to be limited to agenda items and not more than five minutes per speaker.
Mayor Nefulda opened Oral Communications. There being no one present wishing to speak, Mayor Nefulda closed Oral Communications.
4. CLOSED SESSION
A. Conference with Legal Counsel - Anticipated Litigation Significant exposure to litigation pursuant to paragraph (2) of subdivision (d) of Government Code section 54956.9: (One potential case).
City Attorney Daudt read the item aloud.
RECESS
The City Council recessed into closed session at 5:31 p.m.
RECONVENE
The City Council reconvened in a Special session at 5:53 p.m.

Fundraiser.
After discussing the investigation report, the City Council voted 3-0, with Mayor Nefulda, Mayor Pro Tem Hasselbrink, and Council Member Doby in favor of: 1. Waiving the attorney-client privilege attached to the December 10, 2024 investigation report prepared by Karen Kramer Esq. of Kramer Workplace, and 2. direct staff to set a Special meeting on Monday, December 16, 2024 at 5:30 p.m. to consider a formal censure of Council Member Murphy.
5. ADJOURNMENT
The City Council adjourned at 5:54 p.m.
