JVAC Minutes April 29, 2024

Call to order at 7:03 PM. No members of the public are present. There is a quorum.
Minutes from the March 11 meeting were approved as corrected, (Davis/Young).
Financial results posted in the March 11 minutes were corrected to read $3292,71.
Dennis reported that Adin Miller, Director of the Mt. View Los Altos Community Foundation, is available to be the speaker at our December event. Moved and seconded (Carpenter/Young) to have Adin Miller as our speaker this year. Passed unanimously.
Lindsay reported that the Oak room at the Community Center, when she checked in March, was available in December and the cost would be $137 and can hold 180 people seated at tables for a meal. Jonathan shared it may be free since we are a city commission. The commission will continue to look at various facilities and discuss various times and variety of refreshments.
Group unanimously selected December 6th as the date of this year’s event.
Sumita will be helping Jennifer with registration. Payment options depend upon the sign up vendor that is selected. Kelly will look into various vendors.
Sandy announced that Lakshmi Ramgopal has resigned due to family commitments.
We have $3292.71 in the bank but need to break even for this year’s event.
We presently receive $1500 from both cities. Dennis/Sandy suggested we request $3000 from both cities for this year. This will be discussed further at our next meeting.
Kelly Davis and Pinnacle Bank will donate wine for this year’s event.
Next meeting scheduled for June 3, 2024, 7:00 PM at Los Altos Town Crier.
