Present: Mayor Kavita Tankha, Vice Mayor Rajiv Bhateja, Council Member Stanley Mok. Council Member Linda Swan, and Council Member George Tyson
Absent: None
Staff: Acting City Manager Cody Einfalt and City Clerk Arika Birdsong-Miller CALL TO ORDER (5:00 P.M.)
Mayor Tankha called the meeting to order at 5:02 P.M.
1. ROLL CALL
Mayor Kavita Tankha, Vice Mayor Rajiv Bhateja, Council Member Stanley Mok, Council Member Linda Swan, and Council Member George Tyson were present.
Attorney Mattas reported that Council Member Mok and Council Member Swan were participating virtually pursuant to Assembly Bill 2449 while attending the National League of Cities Conference on behalf of the Town.
Council Member Mok participated remotely at 255 West Temple, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101.
Council Member Swan participated remotely at 15 W 200 S, Salt Lake City, Utah 84101.
2. PUBLIC COMMENT (Public Comment is Limited to Items which are the Subject of the Special Meeting)
There were no public comments.
3. ADJOURN TO CLOSED SESSION TO DISCUSS THE FOLLOWING:
A. Public Employee/Public Employee Appointment
(Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957(b)(1)) Title: City Manager, Acting/Interim City Manager
Mayor Tankha adjourned to Closed Session at 5:02 P.M.
4. REPORT OUT OF CLOSED SESSION
Attorney Steve Mattas reported that the City Council met in closed session prior to the Regular Meeting. With respect to the matter of Cal Housing Defense Fund v. Town of Los Altos Hills, the Council provided direction and there was no reportable action. With respect to the second closed session item concerning anticipated litigation related to building permit fee refunds, the City Council, by a unanimous 5-0 vote, authorized a full refund of excess building permit fees previously paid, a total amount of approximately $1.2 million. This amount includes funds previously refunded to the Town by CSG and applies to all applicable permit types with a value greater than $1,000.
