CURRENT OCCUPATION: _Sr. Director, Information Technology

1. I am a United States citizen, at least 18 years of age, a registered voter, and resident of the City of Los Banos, District 2.

Yes No D
If yes, how long have you been a resident of Los Banos? 21 years

2. List past or present membership on the Los Banos City Council, any Council- appointed committee or commission, and/or any other public agency, including the time periods of membership.

None
Please summarize your experiences or personal involvement in community activities including but not limited to membership in any community organization or service clubs.

Before the pandemic, my demanding commute to the Bay Area limited my ability to engage with the community. However, I have consistently contributed in meaningful ways. I coached Little League in San Jose for several years until my son's abilities outgrew my own coaching skills, and I stepped in to coach a season of flag football in Los Banos when my stepson's team was at risk of disbanding due to a lack of volunteers.

Additionally, I regularly lead large groups on outdoor trips including whitewater rafting, kayaking, hiking, and backpacking, organizing these trips through private clubs. While not through public organizations, these experiences have allowed me to connect with and guide others in our community.

4. List any special training, education, or experience other than listed above that you feel would be advantageous to your membership on the City Council. and will be equally valuable in serving the diverse residents of Los Banos. My hands-on leadership in IT management has refined my skills in project management, budget oversight, and vendor relations- all directly applicable to serving our city. Finally, my long-standing residency in Los Banos has given me deep connections to the community, allowing me to approach decisions with insight and understanding.

5. Please explain your reasons for wishing to serve on the City Council and how you feel that you would contribute as a member of the City Council.

I am deeply invested in Los Banos, having lived here for over two decades and raised my family in District 2. Every morning I walk for an hour, entirely within the confines of District 2. I am intimately familiar with the streets, parks, neighborhoods and current projects within the district. I believe District 2 has been underrepresented in recent years, with limited communication and engagement from prior leadership. I aim to change that by being an accessible and proactive advocate for the residents of my district.

Additionally, I am committed to improving the city as a whole. Enhancing our downtown to better support local businesses and attract new opportunities is one of my key goals. As a council member, I would ensure that every decision is made with transparency and with the best interests of our community at heart.

6. Why do you think you should be appointed to the City Council? My experiences uniquely position me to bring balance and perspective to the City Council. As a former supercommuter to the Bay Area, I understand the challenges faced by those who travel long distances for work. As a parent of five children who have attended multiple Los Banos schools, I have firsthand insight into our education system. Today, as a full-time work-from-home professional and a supporter of small businesses through my wife's entrepreneurial efforts, I bring an understanding of the economic and social dynamics of our community.

I believe my ability to see problems from multiple angles and connect with people from all walks of life will make me an effective and empathetic representative for District 2. I'm committed to fostering economic growth, enhancing quality of life, and ensuring that all voices are heard and valued.

7. In your opinion, what are the top two pressing issues facing the City of Los Banos and why, please explain.

The first pressing issue is the lack of good-paying jobs in Los Banos. Despite our prime location at the crossroads of major highways in the heart of California, we have struggled to attract larger businesses.

This issue requires a comprehensive investigation into barriers preventing businesses from establishing operations here. By identifying and leveraging state and federal programs, tax incentives, or grants, we can position Los Banos as a hub for economic opportunity. Solving this issue will not only provide residents with local jobs but also improve the overall quality of life in our city.

The second pressing issue is addressing homelessness. Partnering with nonprofits, regional organizations, and government programs, we can focus on creating solutions such as transitional housing, mental health services, and job training programs. Effective management of this issue will benefit both those in need and the broader community, improving quality of life for all residents.

8. You may attach a personal resume and any additional information you would like the City Council to consider.

Please Note appointment to the City Council require the following:

Statement of Economic Interest Form 700: Per the State of California Fair Political Practices Commission, persons appointed to the City Council are required to file a Statement of Economic Interests (Form 700).

Los Banos is my home, I was born and raised here. I believe the residents of District 2 deserve a Council Member who will actually represent them and their needs. I believe my life and professional experiences combined with being born and raised in Los Banos makes me well suited to serve on the Los Banos City Council.

7. In your opinion, what are the top two pressing issues facing the City of Los Banos and why, please explain.

In my opinion the two most pressing issues facing Los Banos is a lack of economic opportunities, and the unhoused population.

À lack of economic opportunities, makes it more difficult for Los Banos to retain talent, and makes it more likely for residents to engage in commerce outside of Los Banos. The unhoused population poses as a health and safety risk to our communities and to themselves.
