Dear Mayor and City Council Members,
My name is Maria Phillips, and I’m a Los Banos resident and mom to a 12-year-old entrepreneur who makes homemade, all-natural hypoallergenic soap.
I’m wondering why Los Banos doesn’t offer one-day business licenses for pop-up events.
My daughter currently has to travel out of town to participate because other cities offer this option.
We often hear “Shop Small, Shop Local,” but it can be difficult for small and new businesses to actually sell locally. A one-day license would allow the City to collect a fee while giving local entrepreneurs an affordable way to participate in events and test their products before investing heavily in their businesses.
I especially think this could create valuable opportunities for kids and young entrepreneurs in our community.
Could the City consider offering a one-day/event business license option? Thank you for your consideration,
Maria Phillips
