Hello Mayor Hudes and honorable City Councilmembers,
My name is Annie and I am writing in strong support of the Childcare Resolution. Passing this resolution will let our town join the movement to advocate for affordable childcare.

It is so important that we show support to our children and our community members who have children by taking this step. Affordable, high-quality child care is vital for the growth and development of our children, as well as families. Children that have childcare are shown to do better in school later in life and are able to have more full childhoods overall. In Los Gatos, we have 1300 children under the age of 5 years old - we need to make sure that they are properly cared for.

Childcare not only supports our children, but our working families too. Childcare is unaffordable for many families, forcing parents to quit their jobs to care for their children or move out of the area entirely. Affordable childcare means that families are able to care for their children and still be able to provide for them.

Please join the 13 other cities in Santa Clara County to pass a resolution in support of childcare.
