Hello,
My name is Alex Kamas and I'm a resident of Los Gatos writing in regards to Mayor Moore's daylighting request. Daylighting is a quick and cost-effective way to improve safety in our town by increasing visibility for all road users.

Daylighting should be added to routine road maintenance around the town, especially focused on high volume roads (such as Los Gatos Blvd), around schools and parks, and downtown.

I'm a teacher and I often see students going to or from school having to anxiously poke their heads out into the road to make sure that it's safe to cross. Daylighting curbs around schools would increase safety for our students. If the town daylights curbs we could see more trips being taken on foot or bike by students. This would result in a reduction of congestion during school pickup times.

Please support the mayor's request in order to improve safety in our town.

Regards,
Alex Kamas

Hello,
I'm Desmond Kamas, a resident of Los Gatos.

Mayor Moore's proposal to daylight crosswalks in town is prudent and much needed. The parking restrictions are already in effect, painting the curbs would just make them visible to drivers.

Every time I go on a walk I have to lean cautiously past parked cars to see if it's safe to proceed across roads. Daylighting curbs would mean that pedestrians and drivers are more aware of each other's presence, reducing the chance of a dangerous crash.

In the mayor's proposal, there are three suggested intersections. Those are great places to start but incorporating daylight painting into regular road maintenance would be even more effective and cost-efficient.

Please support Mayor Moore's proposal so that we can increase safety and reduce traffic congestion.

Regards,
Desmond Kamas
