He asked that we adjourn in memory of so much loss.

Council Member Solache stated that this our first public meeting since this horrific incident that happened in what he described as our backyard. He voiced that his partner actually grew up in Monterey Park and he had spent a lot of time visiting the town and enjoyed many of the city's great restaurants. Council Member Solache identified Henry Lo as the Mayor of Monterey Park and indicated that he had reached out to him and noted that obviously he was extremely busy during the time of the situation and specified the need that local leaders should show solidarity. He agreed and echoed the words that colleague Munoz -Guevara articulated to adjourn in memory of so much loss of life. He spoke about the madness stopping and urged that just for now to join Monterey Park and the other communities in mourning this senseless loss of life in their communities, especially at the event hall where individuals and families were celebrating New Year's, a festive celebration event. He described that we live in a country where we celebrate holidays and events that are important to our individual communities as well as to our API brothers and sisters. He acknowledged that our solidarity and our thoughts are with all the victims because someone's parent, someone's uncle, someone's cousin, someone's father or mother loss their life.
