Under California law the Town Council is prohibited from generally discussing or taking action on items not included in the agenda; however, the Town Council may briefly respond to comments or questions from members of the public. Therefore, the Town Council will listen to all public comment, but will not generally discuss the matter or take action on it. Requests for service from the Town may also be made at the Town offices during regular business hours. Members of the public desiring to speak on a matter appearing on the agenda should ask the Mayor for the opportunity to be heard when the item comes up for Council consideration.
Kelly Gardner said that she was late to express interest in serving on the housing committee, and asked that the Council consider her.
4. ADDITIONS TO THE AGENDA

5. REPORTS FROM COMMISSIONS AND/OR DEPARTMENTS (AS NEEDED) Councilmember Bubser said that she wanted
to correct the record on the matter of the bus turnaround at Woodmen in Old Mammoth. She said she would never want someone to think that she believed an issue that affects them is minor. She repeated her full statement as she made it. "I live in Old Mammoth. I’m not going to dox myself but I live close enough to this that I've thought about it a lot. I’m on the board of ESTA. I totally respect Phil and the work he does. We are so blessed with a public transit system that’s free. It makes it easier for our visitors. It makes it a little bit easier for our workers. But I do have to say that one of my comments is we need to build a safe shelter at stop 2 at Ranch Road as soon as humanly possible so I’d like to make sure that gets on the record.
Look - nothing is easy in this town. We live here because we love it. But the truth of the matter is that we’re a community and we have to stick together. And I think it's imperative that we find a place to make it possible for the folks who live particularly in Aspen Village but other folks in Old Mammoth they have a place to get on the bus. It’s also not fair that people in Old Mammoth don’t have access to our free public transit. So I think before we get so emotional about this we need to take a step back. We need to look at the options. I have spoken with all of our staff about this and there is no other viable option. We can complain and argue all we want but there isn’t another viable option. So I would just like to ask our community that yes I do feel like maybe people felt caught off guard. I completely understand that sentiment. We need to do better about transparency so we will own that. But I also believe that we have much bigger things to address as a community and let’s get to those. I mean… That’s all I have to say."
