Proclamation
Americans are served every single day by public servants at the federal, state, county and city levels. These unsung heroes do the work that keeps our nation working.
Their tireless efforts are especially critical today during the COVID-19 pandemic; and Public employees take not only jobs, but solemn oaths; and Many public servants, including military personnel, police officers, firefighters, aid workers, healthcare professionals and others risk their lives each day in service to the Constitution and people of the United States and around the world; and Public servants encompass a vast array of occupations. Day in and day out they provide the diverse services demanded by the American people of their government with efficiency and integrity; and
Without these public servants at every level, continuity would be impossible in a democracy that regularly changes its leaders and elected officials.
Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that I, Hildy Stern, Mayor of the City of Manhattan Beach, California, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Manhattan Beach, do hereby proclaim the week of May 1-7, 2022 as
