Proclamation
National IT Professionals Day is held on the third Tuesday in September and was initially created in 2015 to recognize the technical experts that make our computer systems run smoothly; and
IT professionals rise to the challenge each and every day to navigate monumental and ever-evolving transformations across the globe; and
information technology professionals are entrusted with building and maintaining interconnected, growing IT architecture to protect and provide the secure storage and transfer of sensitive data; and
as the COVID-19 pandemic hit, IT professionals had to work long hours and adapt to massive changes to help their companies keep up and stay afloat; and National IT Professionals Day recognizes and celebrates the immense contributions that information technology professionals provide to enhance quality of life, enable education, sustain businesses and jobs, drive economic success and innovate for future generations.

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved that I, Steve Napolitano, Mayor of the City of Manhattan Beach, California, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Manhattan Beach, do hereby proclaim September 20, 2022, as
National IT Professionals Day
in recognition of all technology experts but especially to the dedicated IT staff at the City of Manhattan Beach who help keep us all connected and are always able to find a way to get IT done.
