A RESOLUTION OF THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY
COUNCIL APPROVING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
CITY OF MANHATTAN BEACH AND VITAL MEDICAL
SERVICES FOR ON-CALL MEDICAL SERVICES FOR IN-
CUSTODY ARRESTEES
THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY COUNCIL HEREBY RESO LVES AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The C ity Council hereby approves the five-year Agreement between the City of Manhattan Beach and Vital Medical Services dated January 1, 2023, on-call non-emergency medical services for in -custody prisoners in an amount not-to-exceed $500,000.
SECTION 2. Pursuant to Manhattan Beach Municipal Code (MBMC) Section 2.36.140 (waivers) , the City Council hereby finds that it is in the be st interest of the City to waive formal bidding because Vital Medical Services is the only company currently providing on -site non -emergent medical services to include booking clearances to Type I jail facilities in Los Angeles County.
SECTION 3. The Council hereby directs the City Manager to execute the Amendment on behalf of the City.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
