Dear Mayor Montgomery,
I hope all is well with you in the great state of California. Things here in Mississippi are about the same, busy as ever. I am searching for cars for my police department that currently has only one vehicle. This one car must be driven by six or seven police officers which makes it hard to put more than one officer on duty at the same time. This car is also in poor condition and is constantly needing to be repaired. The supply chain issues are also creating a scarcity of police vehicles in the area.

This has put me is the situation to try to locate and obtain vehicles any way I can. That includes asking other cities and municipalities.

When we discussed you purchasing new vehicles for your police department at the mayor's conference, it had to be divine intervention. It opened the conversation up to discuss my town and the lack of vehicles we have. Being a town in one of the poorest counties in the nation, we have had our share of issues with obtaining what we need. However, going into my second year as mayor, I am determined to bring here what we need to function adequately to thrive and grow into the city this once was.

Many thanks to you and the Manhattan Beach Police Department for any assistance in helping this town to stay safe by selling us five to seven cars for $1.00 each. I will be forever grateful as well as my citizens. This can put each of our six officers in their own vehicle at once without waiting years to acquire extra cars. Safety is a necessity, and Manhattan Beach will be helping our town to improve its' level of safety.

I look forward to hearing from you for more details. Take Care! With Kind Regards,
Gaulerto Poe
Mayor Paulette Moore
