A RESOLUTION OF THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY
COUNCIL APPROVING AMENDMENTS TO THE
COMPENSATION PLAN FOR FULL -TIME
UNREPRESENTED EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF
MANHATTAN BEACH
WHEREAS, the salary and benefits provisions for the unrepresented employees of the City of Manhattan Beach are provided for in a Compensation Plan for Full -Time Unrepresented Employees, with effe ctive dates of January 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025, originally approved by the City Council on March 15, 2022; WHEREAS, the sole member of the Fire Management Association, a Fire Battalion Chief, requested to dissolve the Association in November 2022 and become unrepresented by a labor organization;
WHEREAS, on November 15, 2022, the Battalion Chief position was retitled to Division Chief and incorporated into the C ompensation Plan for Full -Time Unrepresented Employees to include the terms, condition s, and compensation for the Div ision Chief position;
WHEREAS, on September 19, 2023, the City Council approved changes to the compensation and benefits for the Division Chiefs following the completion of labor negotiations with the Manhattan Beach Firefighters Association in June 2023; and WHEREAS, the attached compensation plan i s intended to be inclusive of all terms, conditions, and compensation for unrepresented employees, with the exception of policies that apply to all City employees, and therefore apply to unrepresented employees.
THEREFORE, THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY COUNCIL HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby approves and adopts t he attached amended and restated Compensation Plan for Full -Time Unrepresented Employees of the City of Manhattan Beach (January 1, 2022 through June 30, 2025).
SECTION 2. The Human Resources Director or her designee shall administer the terms of the compensation plan on behalf of the City.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this Resolution.
