RESOLUTION NO. 24-0125
A RESOLUTION OF THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY
COUNCIL APPOINTING TALYN MIRZAKHANIAN AS CITY
MANAGER AND APPROVING AN EMPLOYMENT
AGREEMENT WITH TALYN MIRZAKHANIAN
WHEREAS, City Manager Bruce Moe retired on August 18, 2024; and WHEREAS, Talyn Mirzakhanian has a ssumed the responsibilities of Acting City Manager, effective August 19, 2024; and
WHEREAS, the City Council conducted an executive recruitment, and determined Talyn Mirzakhanian to be the best candidate for City Manager.
THEREFORE, THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY COUNCIL HEREBY RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1 . The City Council hereby appoints Talyn Mirzakhanian as City Manager, effective November 6, 2024. The associated change to salary and deferred compensation contribution will be effective November 16, 2024, the beginning of the next pay period.
SECTION 2 . Pursuant to Government Code Section 36506, t he City Council approves the attached employment agreement and fixes the compensation of the City Manager in the amount set forth in the agreement.
SECTION 3. The Mayor shall execute the Agreement on behalf of the City.
SECTION 4. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
