Whereas National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was founded in 2015 by Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) to recognize ollicers across the country for the daily sacrilices they make for their communities; and
Whereas. C.O.P.S. provides a national support network for families and co-workers who have lost a loved one in the line of duty and supports positive recognition of ollicers doing good work every day; and
Wereas.
Law Enforcement Ollicers of 'every rank and file have chosen a profession that puts their lile on the line every day for their communities. They've answered a call to public service that is demanding and olien unappreciated; and
Whereas Manhattan Beach Ollicers commitment to the community policing Manhattan Beach helps to proactively educate and provide public safety resources for more than 35,000 residents; Whereas. we appreciate the extraordinary ellorts and sacrilices made by ollicers and their lamilics, on a daily basis in order to protect our schools, workplaces, roadways and homes; and Whereas.
the well-being of the City of Manhattan Beach residents is prescived and enhanced as a direct result of'the vigilance of'these ollicers.
Now, Therefore. BeH Rescued that I, Any Thomas Howorle, Mayor of the Ciss of Manhattan Beach, Calilornia, on behall of the City Council and the residents of Manhattan Beach, do hereby proclaim January 9" 2025, as
National Law Enfereement Appreciation Day
and encourage our citizens to do something special for our community's peacekeepers and take the time to show appreciation for the massive sacrilices our ollicers make while protecting our communities.
