A RESOLUTION OF THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY
COUNCIL INCREASING THE CONTRACT CONTINGENCY
FOR THE MANHATTAN VILLAGE SENIOR VILLAS ADA
PATHWAY PROJECT BY $299,981,97 TO A TOTAL
AMOUNT OF $392,999.97
RECITALS
A. On October 19, 2021, the City Council awarded a construction agreement to Gentry General Engineering, Inc. for the
Manhattan Village Senior Villas ADA Pathway Project in the amount of $1,162,732.93, with a contract contingency
authorization of $93,018.00.
B. Due to several unforeseen factors outlined in the accompanying staff report dated January 21, 2025, it has now become
necessary to increase the contingency authorization by
$299,981.97 to a new contingency amount of $392,999.97.
NOW THEREFORE, THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY COUNCIL HEREBY
RESOLVES AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council hereby: authorizes the City Manager or her designee to approve additional construction work by Gentry General Engineering, Inc. for the Manhattan Village Senior Villas ADA Pathway Project for an amount not to exceed $392,999.97; and increases the construction contingency by $299,981.97.
SECTION 2. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
