Mierers, founded in 1951, National lingineers Week (lWeek) is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce br increasing understanding of, and interest in, engineering and technology careers; and Whereas engineers use their scientific skills and specialized knowledge and skills in creative and innovative wars to fultill society's needs; and
Mherenes, engineers help solve major teclmological challenges of our time - from designing efficient building systems to rebuilding towns devastated by natural disasters; and Whereas, engineering has been called the invisible or stealth profession because everything around us and things we use every dar have been engineered in some war, ret we mar not see the engineers behind the scenes or know much about engineering; and Mierers, EWeek is a formal coalition of more than 70 engineering, education and cultural societies, with more than 50 corporations and government agencies dedicated to raising public awareness of engineers' positive contributions to quality of life; and Mierers,
Week promotes recognition among parents, teachers, and students of the importance of a technical education and a high level of math, science and technolog! literact, and motivates routh to pursue engineering careers in order to provide a diverse and vigorous engineering workforce; and
Mierers, we will look more than ever to engineers and their knowledge and skills to meet the challenges of the twenty-first centurt:
