Whereas. March 12th marks the 113th Anniversary pf Girl Scouts of the USA, founded bs Juliette Gordon Lor in 1912 in Savannal, Georgia; and
Mierers. throughout its long and distinguished histort; Girl Scouting has inspired millions of girls and women with the highest ideals of character, conduct, and patriotism; and Wherers, Girl Scouting connects girls to a worl of possibilities in a positive and inclusire, girl-led environment, where girls are inspired to discover their passions and empowered to reach their full potential; and
Wherers, through Girl Scouting, girls gain courage, confidence, and character to make their communities and the world a better place; and
Mierers, girls get exposure to new experiences in Science, Technolog; Engineering, and Math (STEM), the outdoors, and entrepreneurship through Girl Scout's unique programs; and Mierers, neart 2 million current Girl Scout members nationwide will be celebrating 113 years of thus American tradition, with nearly 50 million romen who are former Girl Scouts and living proof of the impact of this amazing Morement.
Now, Therefore, Be Si Reselved that I, Amy Thomas Howord, Mayor of the Cits of Manhattan Beach, California, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Manhattan Beacli, do hereby proclaim March 9, 2025, through March 15, 2025, as Girl Pearl Meds
and applaud the commitment Girl Scouting has made to support the life and leadership derelopment of America's guls through community service to our county; state and City of Manhattan Beach.
