Whereas. International Women's Das is an occasion to acknowledge the progress that has been made to achiere equal rights and opportunities for women while noting what we have ret to achiere; and
Whereas the motie behind establishing an International Women's Dat dates back to Februart 1908, when female garment workers in New York City went on strike to protest poor working conditions; and
Whereas, in honor of the continuing struggle that women face in both workplace and broader societ; a National Women's Dar commenced and the idea later adranced to commemorate a universal and international struggle; and
Mierers, women and girls, in particular women with disabilities, racialized women, immigrant romen, two spirit and gender diverse peoples experience, many forms of oppression including violence and abuse impacting their ability to experience true equit; and Mierers, International Women's Dar is a time to work toward a world where each woman and girl can exercise her choices, and experience equity in her daily life; and Mhereas, on this International Women's Dar; we celebrate and encourage erergone to embrace equite be activelt working toward the creation of an inclusive world. We ask that everone challenge gender inequalito; draw attention to discrimination and bias and work toward ending woman abuse so that equity can truly be embraced by all.
Now. Therefore, Be I Reseled that 1, Amy Thomas Howord, Masor of the Cip of Manhattan Beach, California, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Manhattan Beach, do hereby proclaim March 8, 2025, as
International Mamen's Day
and acknowledge that there is no histors; or future without women. The Cit of Manhattan Beach is proud to stand up and recognize the crucial role that women plat in our world and celebrate women everthere.
