www.manhattanbeach.gov/InfiltrationProject
The project is designed to improve quality of life by implementing a sustainable stormwater management system to help the City meet the Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) waste load allocations for trash, debris, and bacteria as directed by the Los Angeles Regional Water Quality Control Board. The project will collect stormwater from 60% of the City’s area (1500 acres), then clean and infiltrate it. This will help the City achieve the following objectives:
• Improve water quality for the beach and bay users;
• Reduce discharges of bacteria, trash, and debris to our beaches and the ocean;
• Minimize potential beach closures due to poor water quality; • Enhance environment for marine life and wildlife; and • Improve circulation and facilities at the 26th St. public parking facility. 28TH STREET STORMWATER INFILTRATION PROJECT
