Whereas National Bicycle Safety Month was first declared in May of 1956; and Whereas the bicycle is a viable and environmentally sound form of transportation and an excellent form of recreation and enjoyment of Manhattan Beach's scenic beauty; and Wherers. the City of Manhattan Beach encourages everyone to explore the jors of bicycling during the month of Mar through educational programs, commuting events, of just getting out and going for a ride; and
Whereas. the I'nited States Department of Transportation's National Highway Traflic Safet! Administration urges bicelists and motorists to share our roadways be obering the (rallic laws and respecting each other's rights; and
Wherers. the Cily of Manhattan Beach has an EBike Salety and Awareness Campaign, "Ride Safe, Ride Reads; " to address the growing safely concerns around the dangers of ebikes; and
Wherers. the City of Manhattan Beach supports the National Bicycle Safety Month created to remind the public to put "safets first."
