Mherers. correctional ofticers are trained lam enforcemen prolessionals dedicated to maintaining safe and secure correctional facilities and ensuring public safete; and Whereas. correctional facilties across the (nited States, both colan and nultart; public and private, adult and juvenile, are run be light qualified and esperienced individuals with a deep understanding of the challenges within the prolession; and Micrens. correctional ollicers and emplorees are responsible for the custodi; care and rehabiltation of thousands of offenders ever gear, as well as the mamtenance of sale and secure facilities; and
Wherease correctional ollicers and employees serve adrable in many diflerent capacities, including jail administrators, wardens, chaplains, murses, supervisors, social workers, teachers, managers and directors; and
Whereas. correctional officers and emplorees teach, tram, mentor, counsel, and treat thousands of ollenders; and
Whereas.
correctonal officers and emplorees rise to meet ant challenges and serve this honorable profession noble and admirablt:
Ner. Terrfere. Be I Resolved that I, Amy Thomas Howord, Mayor of the Cit of Manhattan Beach, Calitornia, on behalf of the City Council and the residents of Manhattan Beach, do hereby proclaim Mar 4, 2025, through Mar 10, 2025 as National Correctional Officers Weeds
and 1 call upon all citizens to help recognize correctional officers and employees for their service and should be commended b leaders in the profession, and the public and our elected offcials for the tremendous job ther do and exceptional performance of duties under the most difficult of cucum- stances.
