Merenes. Congress and the President of the United States have designated May 1.5" as Peace Oficers" Memorial Day, and the week in which May 15" falls as National Police Week; and
Mierers. National Police Week in America was created to honor the service and recognize the sacrifice and contributions made be police officers in communities both large and small; and
Mherers. there are more than 800,000 law enforcement officers serving in communities across the Untied States, including the dedicated members of the Manhattan Beach Police Department who play an essential role in safeguarding the rights and freedoms of its residents; and
Mierers.
it is important that all citizens know and understand the duties, responsibilities, hazards, and sacrilices of their law enforcement agencs; and that members of our police department recognize their duty to serve the people be defending life and propert, by protecting them agamst violence or disorder, and be protecting the innocent against deception and the weak against oppression and intimidation; and Merenes.
the men and women of the Manhattan Beach Police Department, who be their faithful and loral derotion to their responsibilities have rendered a dedicated service to their communities and, in doing so, have established for themselves an enviable and enduring reputation for preserving the rights and security of all citizens.
