public works professionals focus on infrastructure, facilities, and services that are vital of importance to sustainable and resilient commumities and to public health, high quality of life, and well-being of the people of Manhattan Beach; and Wherers. these infiastructure, facilities, and services could not be provided without the dedicated efforts of public works professionals, who are engineers, managers, and emplorees at all levels of gorernment and the private sector, who are responsible for rebuilding, improving, and protecting our nation's transportation, water supply, water treatment and solid waste sistems, public buildings, and other structures and facilities essential for our citizens; and
Whereas. it is in the public interest for the citizens, coic leaders, and chukien in Manhattan Beach to gain knowledge of and mamtam an ongoing interest and understanding of the importance of public works and public works programs in their respective communities; and
Wherers. the rear 2025 marks the 65th annual National Public Works Week sponsored by the American Public Works Association.
Nan, Therefore, Be Ji Rescued tath, Amy Thomas Howort, Marorotthe City of Manhattan Beach, Calitornia, on behalt of the City Council and the residents of Manhattan Beacl, do hereby proclaim Mar 18, 2025, through Mar 21, 2025 as National Public Worles Week
and 1 call upon all citizens and civic organizations to acquaint themselves with the issues involved in providing our Public Works and to recognize the contributions which Public Works officials make every day to our health, safet, comfort, and quality of life.
