Mhereness this nation was founded on the principle that erer individual has infinite dignits and worth, and the Cit of Manhattan Beach calls upon the people of this cits to embrace this principle and work to eliminate prejudice everwhere it evists; and Whereas. while society at large increasingly supports LOBTQI+ (Lesbian, Gas; Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, and Interses) equalit; it is essential to acknowledge that the need for education and awareness remains vital to end discrimination and prejudice; Wherers. celebrating Pride Month influences awareness and provides support and adrocact for Manhattan Beach's LOBTOI+ communior; and is an opportunițy to take action and engage in dialogue to strengthen alliances, buikd acceptance and advance equal rights; and
Whereas. LOBTOI+ individuals are a vital part of all fields and protessions and hare had immeasurable impact to the cultural, civic and economic successes of our country; and
Whereas. ererone should be able to live without fear of prejudice, discrimination, violence and hatred based on ethnic, cultural, racial, religious, gender and sexual identities; and Whereas it is imperative that all people in the communit; regardless of sexual orientation or gender identto; teel valued, safe, emporered, and supported by their peers, educators, neighbors and community leaders.
