A RESOLUTION OF THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY
COUNCIL DETERMINING A CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION
FROM THE CEQA GUIDELINES FOR THE PACIFIC
SEWER LIFT STATION CONVERSION TO GRAVITY LINE
PROJECT; APPROVING THE PLANS AND
SPECIFICATIONS; AWARDING A CONSTRUCTION
CONTRACT TO ENVIRONMENTAL CONSTRUCTION,
INC.; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANGER TO
APPROVE ADDITIONAL WORK, IF NECESSARY
THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY COUNCIL HEREBY RESOLVES AS
FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. The City Council has reviewed the plans and specifications for the Pacific Avenue Sewer Lift Station Conversion to Gravity Line Project (“Project”) and hereby finds the Project categorically exempt from applicable provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) pursuant to State CEQA Guidelines Section 15302 Class 2 (replacement or reconstruction of existing facilities) which applies to the reconstruction of existing sewer facility.
SECTION 2. The City C ouncil hereby approves the plans and specifications for the Project
SECTION 3. The City Council hereby approves that certain agreement (“Agreement”) between the City of Manhattan Beach (“City”) and Environmental Construction, Inc. (“Contractor”), dated July 1, 2025, for the Project, in the amount of $7,835,574.00.
SECTION 4. The City Council hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager to execute the Agreement and further authorizes the City Manager and/or his or her designee to pay Contractor up to an additional $784,000 for additional work, if necessary.
SECTION 5. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
