Wherers. farmers markets offer a vibrant and inclusire space for education and engagement, where individuals can learn about food production, nutrition, and communit; and Wherers. farmers markets provide consumers with affordable options in their communities, and foster relationships between consumers and farmers, enhancing transparencs and trust in our food sistem; and
Whereas. farmers markets contribute signiticants to local economies be creating more, neur, and better market opportunities that allow farmers to sell their products directs to consumers, therebt retaining a greater share of the food dollar within the communit; Wherers. farmers markets finther USDA's Food Sistem Transformation framework to build a fairer sistem that works better for both family farmers and the families they support; Wherers. National Farmers Market Week, held annually, recognizes the important role farmers markets plat in our food sestem and encourages Americans to support local products by purchasing their products at farmers markets.
Now, Therefore, Be It Reseled that 1, David Lesser; Mayor of the City of Manhattan Beach, Calitornia, on behalf of the Citt Council and the residents of Manhattan Beach, do herebr proclaim August 3, 2025 trough August 9, 2025 as
National Farmers Marlie Week
and encourage all citizens of the City of Manhattan Beach to celebrate farmers markets with appropriate obserrances and activities.
