RESOLUTION NO. 25-0102
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
MANHATTAN BEACH, CALIFORNIA, TERMINATING THE
PROCLAMATION OF A LOCAL EMERGENCY
THE MANHATTAN BEACH CITY COUNCIL DOES HEREBY FIND, RESOLVE AND DETERMINE AS FOLLOWS:
WHEREAS, on September 3, 2024, the City Council adopted Resolution 24- 0105 in accordance with the City Municipal Code Section 3.08.060.A.6.c, California Public Contract Code Section 22050, and Resolution No. 12- 6422, declaring a local emergency in response to the public health, safety and welfare concerns caused by the advanced deterioration of the Lot 3 Parking Structure.
WHEREAS, the City of Manhattan Beach undertook immediate preventative and proactive measures to demolish, repair, and replace the emergency condition of the Structure.
WHEREAS, the City of Manhattan Beach implemented a series of measures to support visitors, residents, and businesses while they contended with the challenges presented by the emergency, including but not limited to, parking modifications to increase parkin g in the downtown areas, shuttle services, ease of parking permit restrictions, the temporary relocation of the City’s Farmer’s Market , and temporary relocation of private property refuse bins.
WHEREAS, the situation resulting from said unsafe conditions is now deemed to be within the control of the normal procurement services, personnel, and equipment.
NOW THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Manhattan Beach hereby resolves as follows:
SECTION 1 . The proclamation of the local emergency related to the Lot 3 Parking Structure, as issued by City Council on September 3, 2024 , is hereby terminated.
SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately.
SECTION 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this resolution.
